The Men and Women aboard the shuttle spent the months it took to cross the expanse dreaming of a new world. One that would sustain them and many others.
When they arrived,
the planet said "no".
This is almost a Spiral album! I would like to thank Bill Hatfield for taking time away from the next Spiral record to be a part of this project. If you like the instrumental segments of the Spiral records than you will love this. Play it loud!
This month officially marks the two year anniversary of Amae! Recently, my good friend Jason decided to write one poem a day for sixty days in order to push himself to create. This was incredibly inspirational for me and I started to wonder, what would be the musical equivalent of that? What I came up with? An album a month! For 2016 I plan to release one quality Amae album every month. This is a huge undertaking, but it is one that will really hone my craft. I'm kicking this whole thing off with Deimos, a record I am very proud of. In fact, I think it is the most realized Amae album to date!

I purchased this album because the unusual blend of music genres (screamo/alternative/prog/ambient/rock) is interesting, giving it its own uncommon appeal. The post apocalyptic concept of the album suits the feel of the music well, and the vocal delivery sounds convincing as coming from someone suffering from post traumatic stress/horror: someone at their wit’s end. The ambient parts sound like the reflective moments of someone lost and in shock. I agree with Bucky’s comments. 6+\10.

The drumming is excellent as usual, and the kit (gigantic bass drum included) sounds thunderous and well-mixed here! Big solos, big riffs, a big sound in general!!
