about

Anyone can call the Wanderer, but people rarely do. The Wanderer will right any wrong, Judge and injustice, and he only he asks a small fee. But the price? That is a different story. The price is so high that few ever call on him. Only the young or the ignorant invoke his cursed name because, when the Wanderer leaves, he leaves nothing but ruins.

The Desert stretches as far as anyone has ever walked. It is boundless and ancient. It will speak to the seer, but only after he has taken a part of the desert’s harsh life into himself. A small spiny bush with tiny white flowers is the gateway. 13 is the number. 13 yellow berries and the desert will speak to the Seer. And then, the Seer will speak to us! But can he translate the desert’s language?

Future interpretation, this is the Prophets gift. Reading timelines forward, trying to make sense of the things that have changed. Nobody trusts the Prophet, until it is too late.

Amae is proud to present: The Wanderer!

Three tracks, each based around a person who tries to translate the unknowable, and how they fail to do so. The language of the seers and the prophets is rarely understood and might as well be a different language entirely. This is an album about speech failing us when we try to comprehend this tiny existence of ours. This is an album about reaching, feeling knowledge, but never being able to replicate. This is an album about failure.

This is the second album in my series of 12 albums in 2016. I’m really questioning my sanity at this point as this has become a huge task. I made a promise to myself at the beginning of this endeavor that I would never compromise song quality in order to complete this job and this album was no exception. Luckily, everything came out really nice on these songs. I love all of them! A big shout out to everyone who participated in this journey with me: the Spiral boys, and Scott Bryan!
